Poll results: Best GP2 driver “of all time”

The results are in from this week’s poll.  GP2 Insider readers have overwhelmingly voted Lewis Hamilton as the best driver to race in GP2 since its launch in 2005.  Following Hamilton, will less than half the votes is 2009 champ Nico Hulkenberg.

The only one breaking an all-champion top 5 is Adam Carroll, whose stellar performances in GP2 pushed him slightly ahead of 2007 champion Timo Glock.  Of the top 7 drivers, only Carroll and Grosjean are not currently racing in GP2.

I agree completely with the poll results and Hamilton was head and shoulders above the rest in 2006, regardless of any rumors of irregularities in his ART Dallara, though my vote went to Alex Premat.

    Oh, come on! No votes?
I’ll put Nelsinho, because he’s got a very beautiful sister & because of his Hungary domination against Lewis – who’s may be the truly best driver if he had such a beautiful sister!:)

  2. Diogo Oliveira says:

    I’ll say… Álvaro Parente.

  3. David says:

I’d say Lucas Di Grassi deserves a look in, he’s Mr Consistent with three top 3 championship finishes.

Mr. Consistent but not Mr. Winner… big difference there. Good driver, but not the “best ever” to have driven in GP2.. not even close.
