Turvey takes last pole of 2010

Oliver Turvey has got his GP2 Asia mojo back… qualifying on top today at the Abu Dhabi circuit for tomorrow’s GP2 feature race.   Turvey was nearly half a second clear of Racing Engineering driver Dani Clos, who was followed closely by Sergio Perez, both fighting for second place in the drivers championship,  and a surprising Fabio Leimer.

The other contenders for P2 with Perez were 6th (Bianchi) and 1oth (Bird).  Series newcomer Federico Leo brought in the rear of the field qualifying 3.6 seconds behind polesitter Turvey.  Last-minute substitute Ho Pin Tung was 23rd, just beating out returnee James Jakes.
